Jesus through Prophets

During his sermon at Bozrah, Jesus says that he put words into the mouth of the prophets. He says, "Looking at this crowd which has gathered round me I really rejoice in the Lord because I see that the promises, which the Eternal Father made to me when He sent me to the world, have been fulfilled. Those promises which I myself, with the Father and the Paraclete, put in the thoughts, on the lips and in the hearts of the prophets, the promises of which I was aware before becoming flesh and which encouraged me to be made flesh. And they encourage me. Yes, they encourage me against hatred, malice, mistrust and falsehood." (V. 3, Ch. 292, P. 103).

The knowledge of Jesus about the words of the prophets is evidenced by his teachings in the temple at the age of twelve. Speaking at the Temple of the Tabernacles, Jesus explains why he took a human form, "You people of Israel do not know that I covered with the veil of flesh my unendurable Divinity, so that man might approach God and not die thereof." (V. 3, Ch. 280, P. 44).

In Volume 3, Chapter 347 Jesus explains to his mother about his origin and previous life in Heaven. He quotes from the book of Solomon, "God possessed me from the beginning of His works, from the very beginning, before creation. From everlasting I was firmly set, from the beginning, before the Earth came into being. The deep was not yet, and I was conceived. There were no springs to gush with water, the mountains were not yet settled on their huge mass, and I already was. Before the hills I came to birth. He had not yet made the Earth, the rivers, or the poles of the world, and I already existed. When He prepared the sky and Heaven, I was present. When with inviolable law He closed the abyss under the vault, when He fixed firm the celestial vault and he suspended there the sources of water, when He assigned the sea its boundaries and He ordered the water not to pass its limit, when He laid down the foundation of the earth, I was by His side arranging everything. I was always joyfully at play in His presence. I played in the universe."

Speaking about the words of the prophets and the punishments on those who deny him, Jesus says, "Those who are persecuting me are acquainted with the prophets. The prophecies are full of me. They are acquainted with the prophecies and they know what I do. The truth is evident. But they deny it because they want to deny it. They systematically deny that I am not only the Son of man, but also the Son of God, foretold by the prophets, He who was born of a Virgin, not by the will of man, but of the Eternal Love, of the Eternal Spirit, who announced me so that men could recognize me. In order to be able say that the night of the expectation of the Christ is still enduring, they persist in keeping their eyes closed, so that they may not see the Light which is in the world, and therefore they deny the Holy Spirit, its Truth and its Light. And they will be judged more severely than those who do not know." (V. 4, Ch. 419, P. 45).
