Are you focusing on the positives and living your life to the
fullest? Or are you caught up in all of the negativity and fear
that is troubling the world today?
It is easy to become trapped in the cycle of fear these days.
Everywhere you turn someone is talking about what's going on
'over there'. Or you turn on the TV and the media is replaying
the latest pictures from the front lines.
So how do we concentrate on ourselves during times like this,
especially when the media makes it so difficult to do so? How do
we keep our focus on what we want for ourselves? How do we keep
our energy positive?
It's not an easy task but we have to keep our thoughts positive
and our hearts full of love. We can't let ourselves get bogged
down by everything that's going on. Unplug the television or at
least cut down on what and how much of it you watch. That will
help.
There are many other ways to keep your focus off what's going on.
Go to the library and pick up a few books that you've been
meaning to read. Rent a few feel good movies. Connect with your
family more, have family nights where everyone gets together.
Now that spring is officially here, you can also get outside.
Taking evening or early walks will help keep your spirit up. You
can try bike rides or a game of softball. Yoga and meditation are
good for the spirit as well.
We have to remember love. Love for ourselves, for our families,
for those we don't even know. We have to keep love in our hearts
and not let the world situations make us bitter or resentful. And
we have to remember that life moves on. It may be hard to deal
with sometimes, but life keeps on going. The grass keeps growing
and the seasons keep changing even when it seems our world is
falling apart.
You have a choice, as always, you can let fear and negativity
weigh you down so much that your day to day life becomes
difficult or you can keep moving on. You have the power to choose
your focus. Keep it on the positive.
Life is too short to be spent worrying about the 'what ifs'. Put
those 'what ifs' to the side, deal with them later. Return your
focus to your dreams. Don't be afraid to go for what you want.
And don't feel guilty about it either. If you want to start a
business - do it. If you want to write a book - do it. If you
want to go back to school - do it. Now is the only time you have.
This is your world and change begins within you. Remember to keep
love and peace in your heart. Replace your worries and fears with
love. And don't be afraid to move on with your life.
