Apple-Nut Stuffing Ingredients
3 cups diced peeled apples
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
6 cups toasted bread cubes
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1/4 cup raisins
1 teaspoon dried sage
1/2 cup apple cider
1/2 cup butter or margarine or olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Directions
1. Heat butter or margarine or olive oil in a skillet.
Add the onion and celery. Cook until soft but not browned. Remove from heat.
2. Add the remaining ingredients. Mix thoroughly.
You can now use the stuffing to stuff a
turkey. Alternately, the stuffing may be baked separately.
To do so, put it in a casserole, cover and bake in the oven at 325° F
(160 deg C) with the turkey for 1-1/2 hours.
Yield:
About 2 quarts of stuffing.
