Easter celebration and its relevance to personal life
In this message, two questions are dealt with: (I) How was the Easter celebrated in the early church? (II) What is the relevance of Easter celebration in personal lives of the faithful?

What shall we do then? True Repentance
Speeches and sermons are in abundance, exhortations are close to the ears, conventions are competitive, and pulpits are live with theology; yet the cry of the broken heart is not to be heard today. The concept of sin consciousness is overtaken by superfluous spirituality and confession has become a ritual formality.

Reflections on Lenten Prayers
When I started to use the Lenten prayer some years ago I was baffled by the often repetitious and somewhat jumbled nature of these lengthy prayers. It took me some time to get to grips with these prayers. I now understand and appreciate the deep meaning I find in these prayers and so am recording my thoughts, in the hope that it may benefit some younger members who may have had similar difficulties.

Is There any Biblical Basis for Praying for the Departed?
Praying fro the departed is a very controversial topic among Christians. The author gives amble evidences from the Holy Bible to prove his arguments in favor of praying for the departed.

What Do You Know Of Christ?
The world is hurrying to its final goal. The end of all things has come near. Every devout and religiously interested person knows that Christ is coming again. The ignorant will be dismayed because they have neglected Christ and His true power.

Life After Death
Is there a life after death? Why should we pray for the departed souls? The author discusses  on this subject with passages from the Holy Bible to support his position.

I am Who I am
Moses wanted to know the name God who sends him to Israelites in Egypt. God revealed His name as "I am", with an explanation "I am Who I am" Do you want to know how this "I am" is explained in the scripture by various attributes of God?

The Lenten Prayer of St Ephrem the Syrian
Why does this short and simple prayer occupy such an important position in the entire lenten worship? Because it enumerates all the "negative" and "positive" elements of repentance and constitutes a "check list" for our individual lenten effort. This effort is aimed first at our liberation from some fundamental spiritual diseases which shape our life and make it virtually impossible for us even to start turning ourselves to God.

The Last Judgment
No one is so patient and so merciful as God, but even He does not forgive those who do not repent. The God of love is also a God of righteousness, and when Christ comes again in glory, He will come as our Judge. This is the message of Lent to each of us: turn back while there is still time, repent before the End comes.

Lenten Prayers - My Experience
When I started living away from my family for my higher studies, daily prayers that was engrained in me as a deep rooted habit by then, remained with me, and provided me with much needed refuge and strength.

Fasting is good for heart and long life
Fasting is a branch of science, not necessarily be a religious teaching. It is good to the heart because the heart is the nerve centre of life.

Lent or Dieting ????
The first thing that comes to our minds when we hear the word Lent is, "What am I going to give up this year?" However giving up something is only a small aspect of lent. Lent is a battle to defeat Satan and his mischievous temptations.

God delights in using broken things
In essence, God said, Moses it really doesn't matter who you are. It is who I Am that really counts. I Am that I Am. It was not who Moses was that mattered at all, it was who God was that was all that mattered! For God promised Moses that as he went forward at God's command, all the power of heaven would back him up.

Which Church Is The True Church Of God?
The one true church of God is comprised of various individuals from every walk of life, who live in a multitude of places stretching from one end of the earth to the other. Each of these individuals is a part of the body of Christ, and the very Spirit of Jesus Christ resides in their hearts.

Isaiah 53: The Lamb of God
More than 2,500 years ago, God revealed the greatest message in history to the Hebrew prophet Isaiah. In chapter 53 of the book that bears his name, Isaiah unveils God’s message of salvation to the world, and in so doing, he reveals the identity of the Messiah – the Lamb of God who would lay down His life as an offering for the world’s sins.

Great Lent: O Holy and Salvific Great Lent, come in Peace
What is the basic message of lent or the goal that we have to achieve by observing this fast? Through Lenten prayers, the Church Fathers teach us that the goal of Lent is a complete transformation from all the powers of evil to the perfect Love of God.

Fasting is good for heart and long life
As a principle for spiritual preparation, if one fasts before receiving Holy Eucharist in empty stomach it is good for health of mind, body and spirit. Observe the Holy Lent with proper fasting, prayer and humility for the blessing of you, your family and the church.

Repentance, A Golden Key
Kingdom of Heaven/God is the sphere where God reigns, repentance is the acknowledgment of God's rule.

Beginning of Jesus’ Ministry
Gospel Reading appointed for the first Sunday after Danaho: Matt.4:12-22. Some thoughts for contemplation.

The Sermon on the Mount
The Sermon on the Mount is the quintessence of the teachings of Jesus Christ. It is not the text of a long sermon: even if Jesus were the speaker the audience would have slept off halfway through! It is a collection of sayings. Matthew gives it as a sermon on the mount but Luke gives it as a sort of “Sermon in the Valley”. The substance is more or less the same.

New Year: New Heart
Repentance is essential to inherit heaven. One who does not repent shall perish, said Jesus. One who is in Christ is a new creation.

Nativity of Jesus Christ
The incarnation is not accidental, it was planned and executed for a purpose; the salvation of humanity. The only-begotten Son of God, begotten in eternity of the Father without a mother, was born in the fullness of time of a human Mother without an earthly father.

Christmas and the Visit of Magi
In Christ, we see not only that God is with us, but that He has always been with us. God has "summed up" or "recapitulated" all things in Christ: Christ "gathers up" into His life all the experience of creation.

Christmas and the Visit of Magi
The birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem was an epoch making chapter in the history of mankind. It happened to be the appearance of spiritual truth which shed light to the whole world. Jesus Christ came to this world as an embodiment of divine light that enlightens all those who fumble in darkness of evil. He came as the love that eradicates hatred and the energy that enables people to live a better life.

Peace On Earth
The angels were proclaiming peace and good will from God to mankind. God is not against you. God loves you. God is not your problem. So, turn to God, instead of turning away from Him.

Immediately Present
God is more than "present." He is very present. More present than the nearest friend can be, for He is in us in our trouble; more present than we are to ourselves, for sometimes we lack presence of mind.

The Angel Gabriel
Gabriel is one of the two angels named in the Bible. His name means “man of God” or “strength of God.”

Annunciation to Zacharias: He will be great in the sight of the Lord
"Annunciation to Zacharias." is forerunner to Christmas, even as St John the Baptist was forerunner to our Lord. Faithful knows as poet says, "If winter comes, can spring be far behind?", that Christmas is only eight weeks away.

How To Follow Jesus
It is a wrong notion in Christian life that leading a Pius life brings us all materialistic favors from God. The only answer of innocent suffering in our life is the imitation of our Lord’s suffering. To culminate our spirituality we need to deny our self, carry His Cross and follow him unto the last.

Heaven
What is heaven? It is the eternal bliss which God is enjoying.

Have You Been Saved?
Christians are people who have been saved: the time when they first put their trust in Jesus Christ marks the beginning of their experience of Salvation.

Gospel is about The Kingdom of God
'The Kingdom of God' This is the primary and predominant theme in the Gospel. It was to make a fallen creation aware of this, that the Lord became incarnate.

Look to Jesus
If we are crucified with Christ in the flesh, then we will live in Christ. Our eyes will be lifted unto the Lord Jesus Christ as our example. We will see how He went before us, and we can follow in His footsteps and live by His faith. When we see His example, our faith is fixed upon the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Easter: The Dawn of The Brightest Day
The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is the center of the Christian faith. St Paul remarks that, if Christ has not been raised from the dead, then our preaching and our faith are in vain. Indeed, without the resurrection, there would be nothing for Christians to preach, and nothing for Christians to believe.

Easter Message from Patriarch HH Ignatius Zakka I Iwas
By sacrificing Himself on the Cross for our sins, He reconciled sinful humanity with the God the Father. And through this reconciliation with the God, we all become worthy of salvation and eternal life.

Meaning of Easter Today
If Church Spiritual leaders are going to continue to maintain their old life style, ignoring the important job of serving the fellow men, the ignorant mass will not understand the meaning of Easter. Prayer and social service are the only way out for the common man.

According to St. John Chrysostom, fasting is not just forsaking food. It is what you do that counts.

Praise to the Holy Trinity: A Reflection
Nothing defines more completely than the Holy Trinity - for in this is the Creator, the Incarnation and the Continuing Presence.

Passion Week Message
The kind of person Jesus was, the kind of life he lived, and the way he embraced death, shows us, in human terms, what God is like. Jesus tells us that the whole purpose of his coming among us was that we too might share his way of being human, share that richness of life that he lived.

There is only one way to God
Excepts from a discussion on salvation that you may find interesting.

Why Should We Observe the Lent and Fasting?
We should keenly look forward to the Lent- because the purpose of Prayer & Fasting is to defeat the Satan.

I am the bread of life
A sermon based on John 6:35.
St. John recorded seven statements by which Jesus Christ declared His deity that is; He was one with God the Father.

What You Say Is What You Get, A Bible Devotion
While there is much that we don't understand, we must, on the basis of what Jesus said, realize we are responsible for what happens because of the words we have spoken.

Resurrection of Jesus Christ
Son of God was crucified on the Cross. He resurrected from the dead with his own body. It was not an appearance.

Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life"
Jesus made everything so simple, and we've made it so complicated.

Love God and Then the Neighbor
Can we say we love God with our hearts, souls, and minds and disobey the very first and highest commandment that He has given to us? That commandment is to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Why We Shouldn't Worry
God is our Heavenly Father who cares for us. So, we don’t have to worry, struggle to figure everything out, or even try to make things happen.

Christ Coming vs. Christ Crucified
If we believe Jesus, we begin living gospel Christianity. But many believe a futuristic rhetoric that has no revelation of the gospel of the finished work of the cross.

The Training Of Peter
Everyone has to learn to submit one's inner being to the Spirit so that he can train us and turn us into people who are useful for doing his work, whatever that might be. Peter, the first of Jesus' disciples was no different. We can learn much by considering him as a an example of someone Jesus had to train for his service.

Discipleship - Following Jesus
Jesus made it very clear that discipleship is not an easy life. It is a life of constant change. To follow, we will have to count our relationship to Jesus as more important than our family and friends.

The Day I Met Jesus
The Samaritan woman tells us the story of how she met Jesus.

The Truth about the Da Vinci Code
Through the Da Vinci Code novel, Satan is deploying his favorite cunning device that is instilling confusion and doubt in the minds of the believers. This paper presents a concise "synopsis" of the novel, followed by an outline of the false claims being asserted by the author with a response and refutation to these assertions.

St Thomas at the Octave of Resurrection
When we can exclaim from our innermost soul, "My Lord and my God," then we have liberation from all lesser things. It seems that last things to overcome in the Christian life are periods of doubt that arise.

Be a Bold Witness
Remember that you are immortal till your work is done. If the Lord has more witness for you to bear, you will live to bear it.

Forgiveness
Story of Joseph in the Bible is an epitome of a forgiving mind, a proof that even if man decides to hurt one's feelings or rob one's best part of life, nothing shall ultimately prevail against what God has destined.

Meditation on Healing and Forgiveness
Healing and forgiveness are about being whole because they are about confronting evil and sin in ourselves and the world. God's word to us confronts us with our weakness, sins, and ailments and offers us healing and wholeness.

You Cannot Reason with God
The Lord will take away all human reasoning. From the human standpoint it may seem impossible, but the Lord wants to show us the distinction between human reasoning and true faith, true saving faith, which is the gift of God.

Judas betrayed Jesus. He was a disciple who instead of saving his master conspired to get Jesus arrested.

Holy Week is the pinnacle of Great Lent. At no other time of the year will religious thought and practice be at such a high peak as during this sacred week, and no other family feast or festival should out rank that of Easter.

Good Friday is a prep -witness day
What can we learn from Jesus Christ's experience on Good Friday?

Giving Thanks and Spiritual Healing
God calls us not as we should be but as we are. Each of us has our own unique flaws. If we will allow it, the Lord will use our flaws to bring beauty and grace in service of God and humanity. In God's great economy, nothing goes to waste.

One Family
Our Savior taught by His example and in His teaching that we are to come unto God through faith, addressing Him as our Father. We are to come before God respecting Him and acknowledging that parental relationship, which denotes authority and submission, reverence, dependency.

The Hour of Glory
No human mind can begin to fathom the eternal love of the Father toward His chosen children of grace. That hour of perfect obedience by His only begotten Son unto death, even the death of the cross, was ever before the Father from eternity. Had it not been for these covenant promises, Adam would have sunk eternally into hell the instant that he sinned.

Loving God Alone
God has endowed the soul with two main faculties: the understanding and the affections. We have been given a sound mind, which means that we can understand the difference between right and wrong and can pass judgment. Our affections incline us to do or not do.

Belonging to Christ
Labor practically to show the world that you are the servant, the friend, the bride of Jesus.

Our Lord's Intercessory Prayer
The Lord does what He commands us to do. If Christ who is coequal with the Father prayed so earnestly in the hour of trial, how much more must we obey His precept to obtain the promises, that He be glorified in the trial we are in.

The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit's title of the Spirit of Truth reveals His qualifications to guide the flock of Christ because of His absolute incapacity of error. The Holy Spirit is incapable of error, and that is why He is so fully qualified to guide.

The Eden is within
When Christ, the Lily of the valleys, is planted in the garden of our hearts, His love is "As the lily among the thorns." When we appreciate the love of Christ, we see the sinfulness of sin. We will join forces to cultivate and pluck out those thorns and thistles by the sweat of our brow.

Christmas Gospel
In the minds of many, the Christmas story is "The Greatest Story Ever Told." It has human interest, charm, and intrigue. But let's be careful not to confuse this story with the Gospel. The Gospel, "God's Story" is about a cruel death on the cross, pain, blood and death - and glorious resurrection. It is the only story offering true hope for eternal life.

Birth of the Incarnate God
The greatest the great wonder of our Savior's birth is how He humbled Himself to leave His throne on high to take our human nature so He could appease His Father's wrath upon our sin, and so making peace. He came to redeem us from a debt we could not pay, and reconcile us back unto God.

Testimony of an Inn-Keeper
A familiar Christmas Story with a twist.

How "Merry Christmas" is said in the languages of the world

Christian Home
A Christian home is an institution where parents as well as their children are bound together by the selfless caring and sharing love, where children are encouraged in their spiritual and secular growth.

Giving Thanks
Offering thanksgiving is a part of our Eucharistic celebration. In fact the word “eucharist” came from the Greek word meaning “thanksgiving.” Moreover we should give thanks to God not only during mass but also in every moment of our life.

Scripture For When You Are Helpless
We prayed for this “power tent” and got it. Trees slammed into our house, carport and yard. Our gutters were blown off. Our carport was smashed but our cars were not touched. Our home itself was safe.

Scripture For When You Feel Alone
Here is a Scripture that will build your faith to a fever pitch.

The Mystery Of The Holy Trinity
The word theology was widely used by the Classical Greek thinkers to describe their Gods. Great poets like Homer and Hasius have often used this term while describing the gods and their deeds.

The Mystery of Holy Mary, Mother of God
When I was a young student of the church I had opportunities to meet regularly with my teacher, His Grace Bishop John. When we met, I usually asked tough questions first. He would answer in some way. Then I would ask another and another.

The Dormition Of The Theotokos And Ever-Virgin Mary
Many believe that at the end of her life Mary was assumed bodily ‘into heaven’. This claim, magisterially entitled ‘The Doctrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary’, is a Latin concept.

The Prodigal Son
A look at the parable of the Prodigal son in the context it was given and its relevance to current conditions existing in the church and the society.

Serving God Always
It is so important to realize that we need Christ in our everyday life just as much as we do for eternity. Much teaching says that salvation is something that happens after we die. That is not right. We need salvation every day. We need that perfect peace of Christ in our hearts under all circumstances.

Joy of the Lord is My Strength
The root of our joy is in the Benefactor who has given us the robe of righteousness and gives us our crown. The measure of this joy is determined by our daily walk in the footsteps of Christ, and our fellowship and communion with Him.

Walk with God
Do we know Him? There are only two ways: we either walk in rebellion, or we walk with Him. We must be careful that we are not presumptuous.

God's Love
The greatest power in the world is not the Hydrogen bomb, but it is the redeeming love of God. The Hydrogen bomb may destroy the whole world but only the redeeming love of God can make it anew.

Peace in Christ
What is a more blessed subject than to read of the joy of the Lord Jesus Christ remaining in you that your joy might be full?

He is the prince of peace... JESUS
A poem about peace in Jesus

If you wish to succeed
Success is certain when the Lord has promised it. Although you may have pleaded month after month without evidence of answer, it is not possible that the Lord should be deaf when His people are earnest in a matter which concerns His glory.

Why we suffer?
Afflictions are one thing, but consolations are another.  Whether temporal or spiritual, afflictions can prepare our hearts for the consolation that the precious blood of Christ has washed away our sin.

Hunger of the Spirit
It is impossible for us to bring life into one who is spiritually dead.  We must wait upon the Lord on our knees, begging and beseeching that He will bring life, breath, and food.  We cannot give a spiritual blessing to our own souls, but must wait upon the Lord to give that blessing in due season.

Being Faithful Is Not Easy
While it may seem easy to be in faith, yet for the faith to be at work is daunting.

God Knows Us Continually
This gospel teaches us one of the most blessed assurances Christ's church has for its eternal security. If it depended upon us following the Lord, then we could fall away, but it is not possible because He has engraved us upon the palms of His hands for eternity.

Meditation: A Great Bonus
Meditation on Scripture has the potential to bring us into a new experiential knowledge of God and a much deeper understanding of our life of faith.

Awaken
There is a level of "seeing" or "watching" that God wants to bring us to in these last days - a level that is necessary in order to survive and conquer the devices and schemes of the enemy.

Baptized Once
If we want to have a life of fellowship with Christ, it begins by Him washing our feet with the water of the Word, washing our walk of life.

If we walk in the light, as He is in the light.
A meditation on John 1:7. Though I cannot attain that perfection of purity and truth which belongs to the Lord of hosts by nature as the infinitely good, yet I can set the Lord always before me, and strive, by the help of the indwelling Spirit, after conformity to His image.

Can We be Healed?
It is the sole prerogative of God to remove spiritual disease. Natural disease may be instrumentally healed by men, but even then the honor is to be given to God who giveth virtue unto medicine, and bestoweth power unto the human frame to cast off disease.

Solace, Security, and Satisfaction
Meditation on 2 Samuel 23:5. God has pledged Himself to me, and sealed the compact with the blood of Jesus. I am bound to my God and my God to me.

Finding Happiness - Part 1
What does it take for man to find true happiness in the world that we live in? How can a person be content in this fast-paced, drive-thru society that we are a part of? For that matter, what does it mean to be content, or be in a state of contentment, and how does an individual arrive at the heels of contentment?

Finding Happiness - Part 2: Four Sources of Divine Contentment
There are four sources from which we can experience true divine contentment. Let’s look at these four sources of divine contentment in which are sure to provide ways to reach a state of fulfillment.

What Did Jesus Really Say?
But the essence of Jesus’ teachings comes through loud and clear, over and over, to anyone who takes the time to distill his wisdom from the gospels.

Ask and it shall be given to you
Based on St. Luke 11:9-20

Chosen Ones - Cleansed in the Furnace of Affliction
We are chosen as an afflicted people and not as a prosperous people, chosen not in the palace but in the furnace.

Submission to the will of God
All things are safe in Jehovah's hands; what we entrust to the Lord will be secure, both now and in that day of days towards which we are hastening.

Are we clean?
To have "part with" our Lord and Savior, we must take part in continual progressive sanctification.

Receiving Christ is a subject that is much misunderstood, and vitally important to our salvation.

The Power of His Resurrection
To know Christ is to know the power of His resurrection. All the powers of Satan and death could not hold Him.

Devotional thoughts on the Story of the Blind Man
Reading From the Gospel according to St. John 9: 1- 41

Walk in Light
This world is dark as midnight; Jesus has come, that by faith we may have light and may no longer sit in the gloom which covers all the rest of mankind.

Why Jesus Spoke in Parables
The parables beginning in Matthew 13 reveal the mystery of the spiritual kingdom as service from the heart to Christ as King.  The Lord Jesus is teaching in these parables that the kingdom of heaven is within you; it is established on the throne of your heart.

God Has Answers
For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has a positive answer.

Love meets Justice in God
Looking at Calvary one finds the ultimate symbol of Love. Jesus is the embodiment of Love. We know of no greater form of Love than that shown by Jesus - the Lamb who willingly chose to become the sacrifice in our place!

Intimacy of God
God knows each of us intimately. He knows our human-ness with all the accompanying flaws. He knows our hearts.

A Different Approach to Fasting
Lenten fasts have a tendency to be oriented toward things like giving up food  or television. But there are many other creative ways we can welcome Jesus' healing touch this Lent.

Where is God while we face difficulties in life?
He asked me a perpetually valid question. Where is God in the chaos and pandemonium of life!? Why did God take away my father 6 months ago in a fatal accident? Why do I feel a vacuum in my life as a result of that loss?

The Bible has four gospels. Why?
With the report of four men on the gospel of Jesus Christ, we have a much richer view because they each saw a different central theme of the ministry of Christ.

Christmas Greetings
The mystery of God's incarnation so inconceivable for the mind is quite clear and close, for faithful and loving heart. We are filled with spiritual joy, because God is with us and we are with God.

Christmas Message
Christmas season spells the season of love, joy and peace. We celebrate Christmas to commemorate God's great gift to mankind, and that gift is the birth of Christ.

Annunciation to St. Mary
Annunciation reminds us that Mary obeyed God and willingly submitted to God's will and helped to take away the curse that has  brought about suffering and death. She became the WOMAN whose son took away the sins of humanity and abolished death. So Mary provided a body to God  who is spirit, so that he can suffer on our behalf and die.

Footprints of infant Lord Jesus in Egypt
Many faithful since generations after generations believe that St. Joseph had taken the infant Jesus and his mother St. Mary into Egypt. There are 15 centers in Egypt that are honored as pilgrimage centers, where it is believed that St. Joseph had stayed with infant Lord Jesus and His mother, St. Mary.

The Face of God
Have you ever wondered what the face of God looks like? Have you ever thought what you would say to Him? What you would do in His presence?

The Available Bible
Because access to the Bible today is so free we often forget that there were thousands of people who paid dearly for the opportunity to read it and share it with others.

Access to God
Becoming a true Christian has enormous consequences. Relationships are changed; we are given privileges, we look at life differently; our resources are inexhaustible. How do we receive all of this?

On Fasting
Fasting is a medicine. But medicine, as beneficial as it is, becomes useless because of the inexperience of the user.

The Lesson of Surrender, Devotion and Love from Jesus Christ's Life
I would like to share with you here some of my humble thoughts concerning these important parts of Jesus' life, birth, death and resurrection, which we celebrate yearly.

Kyrie Eleison, Lord Have Mercy
One of the most used phrase in Christian liturgy is "Kyrie Elaison." It comes from Greek and means Lord have mercy. This article by Anthony M. Coniaris is one of the most beautiful and inspiring one that explains the whole concept of mercy vs. justice. Although the examples drawn are from Orthodox Church liturgy, it can be enjoyed by people of all faith.

Peace of God
A Christian perspective on obtaining lasting peace. We live a life filled with way too much. We have too many commitments, too much to do, and we live a very un-natural pace. At times it feels as if we live in slavery to our schedules. It seems as though every minute of our day is dictated to us, with very little choice. I don't believe it's supposed to be this way, and I believe there's a way out. If you can relate to this, maybe I can offer some hope.

The Nativity of Christ 4
The Divine goodness has always taken thought for mankind in diverse manners, and in many portions, and of His mercy has imparted many gifts of His providence to the ages of old.

The Nativity of Christ 3
Thoughts on Nativity

The Nativity of Christ 2: The mystery of the Incarnation
The mystery of the Incarnation is explained.

The Nativity of Christ 1: The Joy of Christmas
Our Savior was born on Christmas day: let us be glad. For there is no proper place for sadness, when we keep the birthday of the Life, which destroys the fear of mortality and brings to us the joy of promised eternity.

The Nativity Sermon
The Feast of the Nativity of Jesus Christ, a sermon by St John Chrysostom

Meditation for Christmas
Let us reflect on some of the words from the gospels which the Church has brought to our attention during Christmas.

The Magi and the Infant Jesus
In the nativity account according to the Gospel of Matthew we read that when Jesus was born an astronomical event occurred - the appearance of a unique star in the east!

How the Christian Should Behave
Many things are set forth by Scripture as binding upon all who are anxious to please God.

God has not Abandoned the World
The text of the joint declaration signed 10 June 2002 by Patriarch Bartholomeos of Constantinople and Pope John Paul II on the shared Christian responsibility to safeguard the environment.

The Grace That Is Costly And Yet Is Free
When Jesus said, "Take up your cross and follow me", he was really saying, "Come with me and die!" Any attempt to follow Christ on the basis of partial commitment is trying to buy heaven with only casual discipleship.
